Dr Adhikari is an orthopedic surgeon who completed the Diploma in Mountain Medicine and is trained in Mountain Rescue. He was an instructor/facilitator for the most recent Nepalese Diploma in Mountain Medicine course in November 2017, and is a long time member of the Mountain Medicine Society. He looks forward to a great season at the Everest ER.
Dr. Suvash Dawadi
Dr. Dawadi is a General Practitioner from Nepal and currently based in Pokhara. He completed the Diploma in Mountain Medicine, and has been involved with Mountain Medicine Society of Nepal for 8 years. He has been a race doctor with Trail Running Nepal in both their flagship races of Manaslu and Upper Mustang, and worked with the HRA’s Gosainkunda Health Camp as well.
Dr Systermans completed his medical training in Australia in 2009, initially pursued a career in Paediatric Surgery, before changing focus to Emergency Medicine with an interest in Expedition Medicine. He has worked in most states of Australia, including many remote Indigenous communities as well as completing time in New Zealand and Ireland. He has also deployed with the Australian Military on a humanitarian aid mission. He spent the Spring 2017 season with the HRA at the Pheriche aid post and looks forward to returning to the Khumbu. Away from work, he enjoys exploring, cycling, trail running and back country skiing as well as spending time with his family.
Lakpa Norbu Sherpa joins us for his 16th season as our logistics manager.
A loyal employee of the HRA since the clinics’ inception in 2003, we couldn’t run our operations without his considerable expertise.
An accomplished climber, Lakpa is also one of the most achieved long line technical rescuers in Nepal, having completed technical rescue training internationally and in Nepal.
Lakpa became a WMI wilderness first responder in the US. He is from Kari Khola, Solukhumbu Nepal and the proud father of 2 young boys.
